Team Palet partners with Today’s Plan
Team Palet is excited to announce their partnership with Today’s Plan through until 2021. Today’s Plan offers a training platform for endurance athletes that will give Team Palet’s coaches and athletes access to a suite of analytics that will provide them with valuable training insights throughout the season.
“Today’s Plan is thrilled to have Team Palet on board. Through Team Palet we can showcase the diversity of the Today’s Plan platform by meeting the requirements of Team Palet’s speed skating training and racing” said Benji Marshall, Coach Business Manager at Today’s Plan.
Team Palet needed a platform that could accommodate the specific requirements of speed skating. The Today’s Plan platform provides all the metrics Team Palet requires, including the tools and analytics needed to display these in a clear effective way. Today’s Plan has both a cloud based web platform and partner Apps in both iOS and Android, which adds a new aspect of interaction between coach and athlete.
“Having the ability to plan, analyse and communicate within the one platform means Today’s Plan ticks all the boxes for us, and why we ultimately decided on working with them” said Team Palet Team manager, Eelco Kooistra. “Today’s Plan allows us to conveniently plan, structure and implement training, and also effectively and efficiently analyse the data of our athletes to make sure we are maximising their performances”.

About Team Palet
Since 2012, Team Palet is active in the world of marathon ice skating. From October till March, the team races every Saturday night on an ice rink somewhere in the Netherlands. However, by far the best experience comes from racing on natural ice. When the temperature drops below zero everyone in the Netherlands is skating on frozen lakes. Big races like the official Dutch championships and the eleven cities tour (last one was 1997) are held. But the last big championships on Dutch natural ice were held in 2013, so the skaters travel to Austria (Weissensee) and Sweden (Luleå) for races from 40 till 200 kilometers.
In the last couple of years the team has been growing, resulting in a current team of twelve skaters active in both the first and second (upcoming talents) division. The vision of team Palet is to help talented skaters in their development so they will eventually be able to challenge the top skaters. Proper guidance is essential. To optimally prepare the skaters, everyone gets a personalized training schedule. In April we will start our preparation of the winter season with bike training, roller skating sessions and gym workouts.
